The Committee is pleased to announce that IAM Local 1930 has reached a tentative agreement for our 2026-2029 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the City of Long Beach. We are now tasked with presenting the new Tentative Agreement to you for ratification. We know that you have been waiting to hear the results of our collective bargaining, however, we ask for your patience as we now work to present all the changes and additions to the potential new contract in a comprehensive and understandable way. This will take us a couple days.
As we move forward, this is what the membership needs to know right now. All voting members will be able to submit their ballot to approve or refuse the contract next week. Online voting will begin Wednesday, October 21, 2026 to Friday, October 23, 2026. For members that are unable to cast a ballot on their own devices, you will be able to submit your ballot in person (location to be announced at a later date). Two information sessions will precede the vote on Monday, October 19, 2026 and Tuesday, October 20, 2026. Attending members will receive a presentation on the Tentative Agreement before members of the committee field questions.
Please be aware, in order to be eligible to cast a ratification vote you must be a dues-paying member. Employees that are not members but wish to vote on the contract must sign-up to be a member and then will be able to cast a challenge ballot.
